Longtime Martha O’Bryan Center partners, Workwear Outfitters, recently had several volunteers come out to Explore! Community School and work with students while teaching them about fashion and merchandising.
Everyone gathered in our Craftsmanship Center at Explore Community School, where Workwear Outfitters volunteers regaled the students with stories regarding the vast world of fashion design. Classmates were then introduced to the elaborate clothing production process, where students were encouraged to use their imagination and find inspiration from their environment when designing and making clothes. Some of the students and instructors offered to have the designs tailor made to them, which they each found to be quite fun. You can see them modeling everyone’s efforts in the group photo above.
We hope several students go on to become fashion moguls and mavens, inspired by this awesome one-on-one clothing design experience. Thank you, Workwear Outfitters, for letting us borrow your Merchandising Team!
