This year, Martha O’Bryan Center once again did their part to spread the Christmas cheer. Starting right at our headquarters, gifts from fellow nonprofits, such as Angel Tree, handed out donations to our clients within our Family Success Network. Our charter schools: Explore! Community School and East End Prep each held winter showcase and our own Winter Festival invited children to have their photos taken with Santa Claus. Several of the photos from each event are below.
As part of their big Holiday Pep Rally, students at Isaac Litton Middle School performed plays, a spelling bee, a sing-a-long, gymnastics, recited poetry, displayed artwork and showed a student film in front of a proud crowd of parents. They then ended the night’s festivities with a ton of great food! The #LittonLions wish you a #MerryChristmas and #HappyHolidays!
The Explore Community School Winter Showcase provided lots of games and activities for students and parents alike, including a card-stacking contest, a “gloat wall,” free children’s books and a very popular slime-making station—among several other activities. Participants were also treated to a presentation by fellow students led by representatives from the Nashville Children’s Theatre!
Lots of fun was had at the Warner Arts Magnet Elementary School‘s Winter Showcase! The event kicked off with an introduction from our own Ciera, followed by principal Dr. Gibbs and our partner from Girls Inc. each saying a few words. There was a 10 minute skit by our Drama Club students with the Nashville Children’s Theater. Parents and students then made their way downstairs to walk through our art exhibit and had refreshments to enjoy before they left for the night.
