Poverty Awareness Month
Communities around the world recognize Poverty Awareness Month in January. This global campaign is an opportunity to raise awareness about the impact of poverty in our city and world, as well as successful strategies to defeat it.
Watch this space for news about dialogue opportunities in January on topics around poverty, as well as our social media channels for educational facts on the topic.
We also will be sharing ways that you can support our mission –to defeat poverty in one generation– starting with our 5th annual fundraising campaign with local businesses. We hope you will visit the stores and restaurants below in January to support this campaign and thank them for supporting Poverty Awareness Month. On the indicated dates, these businesses are donating to Martha O’Bryan Center part of the proceeds from your purchases!
