Both of Martha O’Bryan’s public K-8 schools, East End Prep and Explore! Community School, continue to shine, according to 2024-25 reports from the Tennessee Department of Education.

East End Prep, a B-rated school on the state report card, outperformed the district in all content areas and outperformed the state in Math. When broken down into achievement for economically disadvantaged students, East End Prep is outperforming the district by an average of 14 points.

“Our investment in highly talented teachers, high-quality curriculum, academic interventions, robust extracurriculars, summer learning, and differentiated professional development have continued to pay off,” said Jim Leckrone, School Director. “We’re providing a foundation of excellence for current and future students of East End Prep.”

Meanwhile, for its fourth consecutive year, Explore! Community School scored a composite TVAAS Level 5, the highest possible ranking. TVAAS measures student growth year over year, and this ranking shows how Explore! students are consistently making academic gains far above the average rate in Tennessee.

The four-year trend of exceptional TVAAS growth for Explore!, another B-rated school on the state report card, is a result of investments in curriculum, academic support, tutoring, and more that is laying a strong foundation for continued academic growth and achievement, according to Cameron Gish, Executive Principal.

“In our eleventh year of educating students in Nashville, it’s more important than ever to celebrate this outstanding accomplishment and work together toward building an even brighter future for our community,” he added.
