Cayce Place, Nashville’s oldest and largest public housing community, is less than a mile from a thriving downtown yet it remains one of the city’s most distressed areas. Families are isolated by poverty and without access to a full-service grocery store, reliable public transportation, affordable medical care, and other basic necessities.
When caregivers are worried about paying rent, feeding their loved ones, or managing major health issues, they often struggle to focus on long-term goals.
That’s why we prioritize meeting individuals where they are and providing immediate short-term solutions that address pressing needs. Our family stability services include crisis interventions, resource navigation, wellness programs, and food security initiatives.
Our dedicated therapists and social workers conduct counseling and crisis interventions to hundreds of households annually. We offer crucial eviction prevention measures, providing interim assistance for rent and utilities to those in need. Additionally, our food pantry serves more than 5,000 householders each year and delivers tens of thousands of meals to the elderly and homebound.
As part our crisis stability efforts, we provide resource navigation to help families access existing community resources and support systems. Our Resource Navigators specialize in housing, transportation, childcare, and health and wellness supports. Additionally, our team consistently updates and distributes a list of available and affordable resources.
Our food pantry remains one of Nashville’s busiest, distributing more than 150,000 meals each year.
MOBC has paid more than a quarter of a million dollars in financial assistance in the past year.
We distributed more than 50,000 diapers in the last 18 months.
