The Martha O’Bryan Center will host a two-day Career Expo with Work-Readiness Workshops on Thursday, May 8, and a Job Fair on Friday, May 9, with 40 employers representing the industries of Information Technology, Hospitality, Construction, Healthcare, and more. Co-presented with MoreComputing Learning Services Inc., the event is open to the public and designed to connect job seekers with immediate employment opportunities in a supportive environment.

Career Expo Schedule

Work-Readiness Workshops | Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

• Workshop #1: Resume Building (1:00 p.m.) with Serena Shephard, Career Solutions Recruiter at Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, Inc., discussing how to edit, format, and update your resume with each participant leaving with their resume in hand.
• Workshop #2: Interview Skills (2:00 p.m.) with Patrice Bertrand, CEO of MoreComputing Learning Services Inc., providing interview guidance with mock interviews sessions.
• Workshop #3: Personal Branding (3:00 p.m.)with Karyn Johnson, Outreach Coordinator with Metro Nashville’s Office of Family Safety, and facilitated by YWCA’s Dress for Success.

Job Fair | Friday, May 9, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

• Meet with 40 of Nashville’s top employers in Information Technology (IT), Construction, Healthcare, Hospitality, and more. Employers will be conducting same-day interviews, so attendees should be dressed in business casual attire and prepared with an updated resume.

In addition to employers, representatives from Martha O’Bryan’s Career Pathways program will be on-hand with information about career bootcamps, training and certification support, and more resources for those pursuing additional education or skill enhancement.

“Career Expo 2025 provides our community members with the tools needed for successful employer engagement followed by the opportunity to access jobs with family-sustaining wages,” said Shawn Sanders,  Director of Employment and Career Pathways at the Martha O’ Bryan Center. “We’re excited to build on our partnerships with the industry employers and certification programs from our Career Pathways program to help individuals grow their skills and pursue greater economic stability.”
