Author Hannah Herner’s latest cover story for the Nashville Scene really hit the nail on the head with regards to Nashville’s child care crisis. No doubt some of her fact-finding came not only from her extensive journalistic background, but also her pre-pandemic experience as a Community Empowerment Specialist through AmeriCorps VISTA at Martha O’Bryan Center.
In addition to showcasing the actual rising annual costs of Nashville child care and its benefits to families and the workforce, the reopening of our very own Early Learning Center at Martha O’Bryan Center was featured prominently. In fact, CEO Marsha Edwards was quoted within several paragraphs of coverage, accompanied by three photos of the new center.
Since her days at MOBC, Hannah is now the Health Care Reporter for the Nashville Post and continues to write for the Nashvillle Scene, which is their sister publication. We thank her for bringing this important story to light, as well as for remembering all of us and our mission here at Martha O’Bryan Center. We couldn’t be more proud!
