We’re proud to receive the Nashville After Zone Alliance’s Crystal Award in recognition of our long-standing leadership in providing high-quality after school and summer programming.

Che’Ara Dykes, MOBC’s Senior Director of K-8 Programs, accepted the award at NAZA’s 15th Anniversary celebration earlier this month at the Adventure Science Center.

The award celebrates exemplary after school and summer programs that demonstrate outstanding impact, partnership, and commitment to student success across Nashville.

“With NAZA’s continued support, we provide students with exceptional experiences through collaborating with diverse enrichment partners, offering memorable field trips, and expanding our resources beyond basic supplies,” Dykes said. “This recognition affirms our commitment to hands-on learning, innovative activities, and creating equitable opportunities for the students we serve.”

The Crystal Award is especially meaningful to the Martha O’Bryan Center as it recognizes programs critical to improving literacy, math proficiency, and social-emotional development.

“This award celebrates the intentionality of our curriculum, the quality of our staff, and our ability to cultivate an enriching learning environment where students feel safe, seen, and empowered to succeed,” Dykes added. “As an organization committed to supporting learners from classroom to career, we view such high-quality youth programming as foundational to community stability and generational opportunity.”
