For students graduating from East End Prep and Explore! Community School, the question of where they will go after 8th grade didn’t arrive this spring.

These conversations begin long before then to give students and families time to understand their options, visit schools, build their academic and character habits, and see high school as something to prepare for with intention.

“High school placement is not just about where students go next, it is about helping them see who they are becoming,” says Ashley Edmonds, Explore! Principal for Grades 5-8. “We prepare students to leave 8th grade confident, ready, and excited for the opportunities ahead.”

Together, MOBC’s two K–8 schools are sending 118 graduates into high schools across Nashville and beyond. They include STEM magnets and arts schools, independent schools and community high schools, and programs designed for students already focused on their careers. This fall, students from both schools will attend Hume Fogg, Ensworth, Montgomery Bell Academy, Father Ryan, Nashville School of the Arts, University School of Nashville, and more than 30 other schools.

Thanks to our donors, our two excellent K-8 schools can invest in relationships between students, their families, and high school partners to ensure a wide variety of learning opportunities after 8th grade.
