Recently, Tamieka Gesse with Colgate’s Bright Smiles, Bright Future program brought three days of hands-on dental health workshops to our Early Learning Center kids, Family Success Network families, and K–8 afterschool students.

To make dental care accessible for MOBC families and kids, every child went home with a dental kit (a toothbrush, toothpaste, and an activity book) after competing for prizes by answering questions about dental hygiene. Parents joined the sessions, too, and received practical guidance from a dentist on how to keep their little ones’ teeth healthy as they grow.

For many of our families, this kind of on-site workshop is the most direct connection to dental health information and resources they’ve had.
