A pantry filled with encouragement, kindness, connection, and hope

Our food pantry remains one of Nashville’s busiest. Last year, we provided a record 256,536 meals, exceeding what we distributed at the height of the COVID pandemic.

Sadly, food security remains out of reach for too many in Nashville.

One neighbor recently stood outside our pantry, too afraid to come in and believing she did not qualify for help. She built up the courage to ask if she could have a can of salmon. We brought her inside, provided a full food box, and enrolled her in our Senior Commodity Box program.

Another visiting us shared her struggles and expressed how heavy life has felt for her. Despite this, she said coming to us gave her “a sense of relief,” said Tasha Cartwright, MOBC’s Vice President of Families & Community Engagement.

“For her, it wasn’t only about the meals she could make with the food box she put together. It was also about being in a space filled with encouragement, kindness, and connection,” Tasha added. “Just being around positivity helped to lift her spirits and reminded her that she is not alone.”

We are grateful to bring relief to our neighbors every day. Our pantry is more than a place to meet basic needs. It is also a caring environment where those in need feel seen, valued, and supported in a community of faith, hope, and love.

Your donations fill the gaps in our pantry and provide essential meals to thousands of Nashville families, especially during the holidays.
