Family Game Night was recently held for our scholars and their families as a means for them to come out and spend an evening together. In total, we had about 30 parents and family members join us for an evening of various games including musical chairs, Jenga, Connect Four, Trouble, Candy Land, Battleship and more! We also served pizza, had a photo booth for our families to create memories and enjoyed some singing and dancing as well.

 

This school year, Martha O’Bryan Center’s after school programming is focusing on strengthening the bond of the families in our program. Playing games is something most families may not regularly find time to do as a unit. In fact, only 30-50% of American families even eat dinner together, on average. This event also gave parents the opportunities to meet other parents and students in our program, to create familiar relationships with others.
