Martha O’Bryan Center provides K-8 students out-of-school time tutoring and enrichment at our headquarter campus and in partner schools during the school year, and with camp during the summer. When schools are closed for virtual learning, we are able to move our different sites all onto our headquarter campus for year-round support when students need it most.
Measuring Our Impact
Martha O’Bryan Center’s K-8 Youth Development program serves elementary and middle school students attending Stratford, Maplewood, and McGavock cluster schools. We specifically target youth who are isolated by poverty, without access to expanded educational opportunities, reliable transportation, healthy food, and other basic necessities.
Enrichment
Enrichment time is driven by student interests. Students complete a survey at the beginning of the year to help staff plan enrichment offerings and provide feedback throughout the year to ensure activities are in line with student expectations. We are well-equipped to design and conduct enrichment programming in-house and also build relationships with a number of community partners to bring unique enrichment to our students. Enrichment time also provides opportunities to address social-emotional needs.
